Frequently Asked Questions
Classroom
- What size are the classes?
- Our classes are created to foster learning at the individual level rather than as a group; students can expect class sizes to be 12 or less on average. Unlike bog-box training providers that pack dozens of students into a single course, Lambda USA keeps class sizes intentionally small. This ensures every student receives hands-on instructor guidance, and a safer, more focused training environment.
- Should I bring my firearm to the classroom portion of the course?
- No, the classroom portion of the course is designed for an instructor to present information and answer questions. We ask students to only bring their firearm to the range for the shooting portion of the course. Please leave all firearms at home until it’s time to visit the range.
Firing Range
- What firing range does Lambda USA use for it’s live fire training?
- Lambda USA uses the [name] range located at [123 main st, city]. This range offers the most value for students, and also focuses on…
- What should I bring with me to the range day?
- Students should expect to bring their own firearm, ammunition, eye protection, and hearing protection. Targets will be provided for students. We ask students to only bring the weapon they will be qualifying with to the range. If you plan on shooting at the range after your range training is done, we ask that you leave any other firearms properly secured in your vehicle.
- What happens if I don’t have any ammunition, or I don’t have my own hearing/eye protection?
- If a student doesn’t have ammunition (or it is determined that they don’t have the correct type), ammunition is available for purchase at the range office. Prices are determined by the gun range, not Lambda USA. Hearing and eye protection are also available for use from the gun range.
- What type of ammunition should I bring to my range day?
- We ask that you only bring full metal jacketed (FMJ) rounds; please do not bring hollow-point, tracer, armor piercing, incendiary, or steel core ammunition. The staff at the firing range may ask to inspect any ammunition you bring with you.
- How much ammunition should I bring?
- We recommend bringing at least 300 rounds; the amount fired will depend on class size and time constraints per student.
