Course Description

Don’t want to be a victim? This course is for anyone who wants to be aware, stay safe, and prevent being victimized. It empowers students to stay safe by heightening their situational awareness, making them alert and able to recognize potential threats, then giving them the necessary skills to defend themselves.

Course Objectives

The objective of this class is to educate students on common threats and behavioral precursors to an attack, to teach awareness and threat recognition, and prepare them for real-world defensive situations.

At the end of the course, students should have a comprehensive understanding of the following:

• Common threats & risks
• Common locations & situations prone to attack
• Zones of awareness
• Threat recognition
• Physical skills necessary to deter an attack
