LAMBDA INTERMEDIATE PISTOL COURSE
Course Description
The intermediate pistol course builds on the foundations found in our basic pistol course, and is for more experienced shooters. Students should have a comprehensive understanding of firearm safety rules, range safety, and basic shooting fundamentals. The course is taught by an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end, and consists of 8 hours of range instruction.
Prerequisites
Students must possess pistol skills presented in the Basic Pistol Course. Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities by producing one of the following: a Lambda USA Basic Pistol Course certificate, or an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate.
Course Objectives
The objectives of the intermediate course are to transcend pistol fundamentals and move into increased skill, confidence, and accuracy for the student.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students should have a comprehensive understanding of the following
- Proper draw from a holster
- Increased accuracy and marksmanship
- Trigger and breathing control
- Shooting from standing, kneeling, prone, & supine positions
- Dominant & non-dominant shooting
- Malfunction clearance
- Safe and fast reloading
Students who successfully pass the course will receive a Tactical Pistol Course completion certificate.

Additional Information
Full payment is required to reserve a seat in the class, and completion of the standard Student Questionnaire upon enrollment is also mandatory. Range fees are set by the firing range, but are included in the course price. Range attire should be comfortable but not loose-fitting clothing. Students are responsible for bringing the following with them to the range:
- Semi-automatic pistol or revolver
- Pistol holster
- 3 magazines & holders (or speed loaders & holders)
- 300 rounds of ammunition
- Hearing & eye protection
- Snacks/food/water
