LAMBDA BASIC PISTOL COURSE
Course Description
The Basic Pistol course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. It is a two (2) day course consisting of eight (8) hours classroom instruction, followed by a range day for those who wish to gain skill and confidence.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are for students to learn safe storage, cleaning, and handling procedures, the four basic gun safety rules, and how to shoot both safely and accurately.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students should have a comprehensive understanding of the following:
- The four (4) basic gun safety rules
- Proper operation of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers
- Ammunition knowledge & selection
- Pistol selection & storage
- Shooting fundamentals (stance, grip, trigger control)
- Malfunction clearance
- Pistol inspection & maintenance
- Basic marksmanship
- Shooting range safety
Students who successfully pass the course will receive an Basic Pistol Course completion certificate.

Additional Information
Full payment is required to reserve a seat in the class, and completion of the standard Student Questionnaire upon enrollment is also mandatory. Range fees are set by the firing range, but are included in the course price. Range attire should be comfortable but not loose-fitting clothing. Students are responsible for bringing the following with them to the range:
- Semi-automatic pistol or revolver
- 300 rounds of ammunition
- Hearing & eye protection
- Snacks/food/water
